Ruffler Foot Reduction Ratio
Tips and Tricks . Tutorials Article
This document, written several years ago, describes a method that I use to determine something called a reduction ratio. This is defined as the ratio of length of the fabric after it is sent through a ruffler foot. By varying the length of your stitches and the ruffler foot settings, you can change up the length of the ruffle. This technique allows a sewist to deterministically figure out how much fabric to actually buy to make a ruffle of a certain length.
